Welcome to the website for Haruko's Piano Studio! The studio offers lessons for students from about 5 years old to adults. 

 

My goal as a music educator is to create independent musicians who can solve a problem and practice on

their own, equipping students for a lifetime of musical enjoyment.

From my over 30 years of piano teaching experiences in Japan and the US, I know everyone has a own talent and personality. I would like to pull out the individual hidden talent. At the same time, I would like to polish the student's abilities. I teach the basic skill of playing the piano including technique and repertoire,

connecting the sight reading skills (not only notes, but what composer meant, style, mood and so on) and

music theory. I also try to help that a student can have an ability to feel the beautiful harmonies to train ears. I also love helping beginners build good habits from the very first lessons as well as helping busy teens and adults achieve artistic and musical results in spite of their busy schedules.

I am also good at teaching how to get rid of performance anxiety and how to memorize a piece steady and efficiently!
